Anglo Asian Mining has a well-developed growth strategy focused on becoming a mid-tier producer with copper as the principal commodity. The strategy comprises two phases:
Phase 1: Transition
This phase involves managing production at the currently operating Gedabek and Gadir mines as they approach the end of their operational lives. Simultaneously, the Group began production at two new mines, Gilar (May 2025) and Demirli (commissioned in June 2025), and expected to ramp up to full production in Jan 2026. Xarxar is also scheduled to start production in 2027. The Company aims to increase copper production to around 36,000 tonnes per annum by the sequential opening of new mines.
Phase 2: Transformation
This phase will see the Company develop Garadag, projected to produce over 300,000 tonnes of copper, with production expected to commence in 2029. The Group targets a rise in copper production to 55,000 tonnes per annum from 2029 and 2030.
Key Strategic Pillars
-
Expanding Production
Focus on bringing new mines into operation, such as Gilar and Demirli, and further developing Xarxar and Garadag. -
Resource Development
Continuing exploration to increase resources to JORC standard. JORC mineral resource estimates have been published for Xarxar and Garadag, hosting 119,000 tonnes and 900,000 tonnes of copper respectively. -
Financial Discipline
Ensuring financing is available for mine and processing facility development. The Company maintains a disciplined approach to funding growth, without diluting shareholders for new projects. -
ESG Integration
Strengthening ESG practices to ensure best practice, as demonstrated by the “BB” ESG certification from Digbee ESG.
