Anglo Asian Mining has a long and successful history in Azerbaijan, operating throughout the region for over 20 years. Our journey is marked by significant milestones and a commitment to responsible mining practices.

Key Highlights of Our Journey

2025

• Gilar mine started production in May.
• Commissioned Production at Demirli in June and ramping up to full production at Demirli from January 2026

2024

• Maiden Xarxar JORC mineral resources estimate published.
• Received authorisation from the Government of Azerbaijan to raise the Gedabek tailings dam wall.
• Became the first company in the Caucasus region to secure CAT financing.
• Maiden Garadag JORC mineral resources estimate published – approximately 900,000 tonnes of copper.
• Sustainability committee established.

2023

• Extensive refurbishment of plants

2022

• Acquired three new contract areas (Garadag, Xarxar, and Demirli), strengthening the foundation of our growth strategy.
• Started developing the Gilar underground mine.

2021

• Zafar deposit discovered

2020

• Gedabek underground mine
  Underground mining commenced beneath the main open pit

2015

• Flotation plant commenced production
• Gadir underground mine opened

2013

• Agitation leaching plant commenced production.

2010

• Copper production began with the Sulphidisation, Acidification, Recycling and Thickening (SART) plant.

2009

• Gold production commenced at the Gedabek open pit mine.

1997

• Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) signed with the Government of Azerbaijan, granting mining rights over various contract areas.
