Kyzlbulag is located in Karabakh. The Kyzlbulag contract area hosts the Au-Cu Kyzlbulag mine near Heyvali (formerly known as Drmbon mine) that was exhausted many years ago.

There are indications that up to 35,000 ounces of gold per year were extracted from the Kyzlbulag gold-copper mine, before the mine was closed and the Demirli mine constructed. The Kyzlbulag mine and surrounding geology indicate the presence of a gold mineralising system. The adjacent Demirli contract area hosts the Demirli copper mine.
The Government of Azerbaijan restored its sovereignty over Karabakh in 2023.
