Demirli is Anglo Asian’s newest producing copper asset, located in the Karabakh Economic Region of Azerbaijan and commissioning began in July 2025. The mine forms a key part of the Company’s strategy to transition into a mid-tier, copper-focused producer.
Ore is mined from a large open pit and processed via an on-site flotation plant, which benefits from access to national grid electricity and local water sources. Tailings are currently being managed via an interim storage facility, with a new tailings dam under development following completion of all geotechnical and design work.
Demirli is forecast to produce approximately 4,000 tonnes of copper in 2025, ramping up to around 15,000 tonnes per annum from 2026 onwards. The life of mine will be determined following further development of the geological and mineral resource model. Recent exploration has already identified extensions to the current pit and new nearby copper targets for evaluation.
Demirli is the second new mine brought into production in 2025, following Gilar, and is a key driver of Anglo Asian’s medium-term growth and contribution to the economic revitalisation of the Karabakh Region.
